Power over Ethernet is the reason to choose this camera over its Wi-Fi equivalents. One cable carries both power and data, so there is no separate adapter at the camera end and no wireless link to drop when the weather turns. That makes it the more reliable option for a camera at the far corner of a property, and it keeps the install tidy where you can get a cable through a wall. Where a network run is not practical, the camera will also take a 12V DC supply instead.

The housing is a compact dome, rated IP66 for outdoor mounting, cast in aluminium alloy on an ABS bracket, and roughly 4.3 in across by 2.8 in deep. The lens sits in an aimable eyeball inside the dome, so it can be pointed once the base is fixed. The 8MP sensor records at 4K with H.265 compression to keep storage manageable. The field of view is 130 degrees, wide enough to cover a driveway or the full width of a rear elevation from one position. There are three imaging modes: normal daylight, infrared night vision listed at 10 to 30 yd, and a full color night mode that uses the built-in white LED where you want faces and clothing rather than monochrome. A microphone is built in, so the camera records the sound at the scene and you can listen in, but it does not speak back.

Two lens options are offered: 2.8mm for the widest coverage, or 3.6mm where you need more reach along a longer approach. A 4MP sensor version is available if the full resolution is not required. Onvif support means the camera will register with most third-party recorders. Mount it under an eave, angled down across the area you want covered, and seal the cable entry properly so water cannot track back along the run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why choose PoE over Wi-Fi?

One cable carries both power and data, so there is no separate adapter at the camera end and no wireless link to drop when the weather turns. It is the tidier and more dependable install.

How much ground does it cover?

The field of view is 130 degrees, wide enough to cover a driveway or the full width of a rear elevation from one position.

How well does it see at night?

Infrared night vision runs 10 to 30 yd depending on conditions, and color night vision takes over where there is some ambient light to work with.

Which lens and sensor should I pick?

2.8mm for the widest coverage or 3.6mm for more reach along a longer approach, in a Super 4MP or Super 8MP version depending on how much detail you need.

What should I watch during installation?

Mount it under an eave, angled down across the area you want covered, and seal the cable entry properly so water cannot track back along the run.
