Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to run it?
A network cable to the camera and an Onvif-compatible recorder to record to. Power comes through the same cable (48V PoE) from a PoE switch, injector or recorder with PoE ports, or from a 12V DC supply instead.
How much ground does it cover?
The field of view is 130 degrees, wide enough to cover a driveway or the whole back of a house from one position.
How well does it see at night?
Infrared night vision has a listed range of 10 to 30 yds. For color at night, the built-in white LED lights the scene, so you see faces and clothing rather than monochrome.
Which lens and sensor should I pick?
Choose 2.8mm for the widest coverage or 3.6mm for more reach along a longer approach, and 4MP or 8MP depending on how much detail you need.
What should I watch during installation?
Mount it under an eave, angled down across the area you want covered, and seal the cable entry properly so water cannot track back along the run.
